FY 22 Q1 Software Support: Products and Missions (11/01/2021)

Overview:

This is an initial list of issues to be categorized and prioritized for a support sprint starting 11/01/21. This is a 2 week sprint, and it is set to conclude on 11/12/21.

Prioritized tickets:

High Priority

• MARCI Variable Exposure Table "varexp.tab" Needs to be Updated #4620
• Extract Pre-Existing statistics from the CameraStatistics Table Object in caminfo #3605 (PR in need of review: Added USECAMSTATSTBL to caminfo DOI-USGS/ISIS3#4597 )
• LRO SCLK files are being cycled out of the data area too quickly #4609
• KaguyaTC Footprint Generation Failures: #4651 (PR in: Fixed caminfo footprint generation failures for KaguyaTC images DOI-USGS/ISIS3#4671)
• Phocube, in source=projection should be able to accept a multi-band cube as input #3877
• Dependencies Issues: #4656 #3885 #4633 #4637 and potentially #3570 to be resolved by #4634
• Running isis with Dawn data: #4638 -- At a minimum, attempt to reproduce and contact the issuer (PR in: Fixes target specification for Dawn / Vesta DOI-USGS/ISIS3#4670)
• CAM2MAP Only Map-Projects First Layer in a CUB for Some Cameras (at least MARCI) #4635 -- attempt to reproduce and respond
• AssertPvlGroupEqual comparison not failing when groups are not equal: #4203 (PR in: Assert pvl group equal DOI-USGS/ISIS3#4669)
• Data missing from S-band lunar radar images after changing projection using map2map #4585 - we started a discussion with a user, got feedback, and then never closed the loop.
• Autocnet: KagTC images failing campt #606 (PR in: https://github.com/USGS-Astrogeology/autocnet/pull/612)

Medium Priority

• Band priority is not optimized in automos #3711
• Update OSIRIS-REx Camera Model to handle new IK codes #3079 (PR in: Osiris ik update DOI-USGS/ISIS3#4680)
• qview tracking table does not correctly display 16-bit values with large Base/small Multiplier #4603 (PR in: Qview Precision Update DOI-USGS/ISIS3#4678)
• Jigsaw residual percentiles have changed: #4655 (PR in: Fixed jigsaw residual reporting in bundleout.txt DOI-USGS/ISIS3#4676)
• Maptrim fails for global mosaic with mode=both: #4646
• Findfeatures "cannot invert empty matrix" errors: #4639
• Usgscsm: UsgsAstroLsSensorModel::getReferenceDateAndTime does not return the correct reference time #333
• Add Statistical Outlier Rejection to jigsaw #4559 - this is work that is partially (mostly?) completed and living in a feature branch. Leaving it in a feature branch too long could be problematic down the line. This is also capability that would be beneficial to have. Not sure on the scope to validate AND get appropriate docs in.

Low Priority

• Automated cherrypicking fails if there are merge conflicts: #4636
• Add tests to the conda build recipe #668
• Update gllnims2isis docs #4439 - this looks like a straight docs issue that is nice to have near the end of sprints -- this is an easy fix that should not fall off.
• Autocnet: Provenance table for function results tracking #582
• Expand covariance matrices when reading in ISIS control networks #158 - this is a nice to have when working with the covariance matrices. This is important because these matrices are needed for grounding (and when doing automated ground on CTX we are having to write / munge these into the ISIS form).
• Plio / PVL installation & Dependencies Plio / PVL Installation and CD build doesn't restrict Pvl version to <1.0 #160 and Unused Jinja2 Dependency #165 - these are all related, general cleanup on getting plio releasing cleanly -- Another Friday ticket -- no big code changes required
• Handle ISIS special pixels and dtypes in GeoDataset #151 - If not this support sprint, a future one. This issue is important for an AutoCNet 1.0.0 release since we want to encapsulate this read stuff into plio and not have to handle it in AutoCNet like we do now.
• No warning/error if no targetname passed to to_controlnetwork #126 - this is very simple, low hanging fruit that makes writing networks more intuitive / provides a user warning. An easy nice to have. Good Friday / easy issue.

• My number one issue to resolve is the dependency issue(s) that are resolved by #4634 on the ISIS repo.
• Autocnet: KagTC images failing campt #606 - This is an important issue for me as it demonstrates the use of AutoCNet on non-CTX data. It is also personally interesting because of how, presumably, the wrappers are having some strange issue.
• Autocnet: Provenance table for function results tracking #582. This is not working as expected in production and is turned off in a PR that we have open (hopefully merged before Monday). It would be great to get this working, tested by @ladoramkershner, and then get appropriate unit tests written.
• Extract Pre-Existing statistics from the CameraStatistics Table Object in caminfo #3605 - this has an open PR. I would LOVE to see if closed if only because work is (partially? / largely?) done.

Additional Tickets:

• Expand covariance matrices when reading in ISIS control networks #158 - this is a nice to have when working with the covariance matrices. This is important because these matrices are needed for grounding (and when doing automated ground on CTX we are having to write / munge these into the ISIS form).
• Data missing from S-band lunar radar images after changing projection using map2map #4585 - we started a discussion with a user, got feedback, and then never closed the loop.
• qview tracking table does not correctly display 16-bit values with large Base/small Multiplier #4603 - This should likely be labelled missions - it is coming in from someone on the LROC team.
• LRO SCLK files are being cycled out of the data area too quickly #4609 - This also impacts LROC data users and should be fixed.
• Add Statistical Outlier Rejection to jigsaw #4559 - this is work that is partially (mostly?) completed and living in a feature branch. Leaving it in a feature branch too long could be problematic down the line. This is also capability that would be beneficial to have. Not sure on the scope to validate AND get appropriate docs in.
