Up to this point, there have been exactly two processor types: ESP8266 and ESP32 WROOM As for all of the other platforms. the difference is the number of ports, the pixels supported and the GPIOs used. The only thing you need to look for is 8266 vs 32. Many of the other options revolve around the layout of the IO pins. The MINI versions tend to have far fewer pins available than some of the pro versions which have a double row of IO pins. |

Hi,
Just wanted to share that I'm very happy with the latest experimental build. All works for what I need.
Few things I still need to check is wifi "consistancy" or maybe esp32 is very busy when the webpage is open? Sometimes it really takes up to 10 seconds to switch between page..like "home" and "Device setup"
But that also brings me to my question....
How to tell what espixelstick version to use for what board. A lot of times I'm still confused and guessing. It doesn't help that a lot of my boards came from alieexpress...in that case you can't even be sure what you have. But is there a way to figure out what board you have? And what are the differences to look at. For instance most of my boards work well with the d1 devkit-c version of espixelstick. But what is the difference with d1-mini pro for instance. (from espixel sw point of view) Is it mostly the assignment of the IO ports? Or is there really a difference in esp32 processor?
Any info on that would be welcome :)
Thanks for all the work.
kind regards,
Maurice
