The "When to Use Worktrees" section of public/agents/AGENTS.md ended
with a list of cases for regular branches instead: working on a single
feature, or making a quick hotfix or small change. In agents-private
that tells an agent to switch branches in the shared main checkout,
which the root AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md forbid ("Never switch branches
or stash in the main checkout"), and it contradicts this file's own
branch step, which says to create the branch in a new worktree there.
For readers of the public inkeep/agents repository the list restated
the default: the workflow's first step already creates a regular
branch, and the list of cases where a worktree helps stays.
The worktree recipe in this file still names no pnpm install or pnpm
setup:env. That was weighed and left out. In agents-private, the root
AGENTS.md gives both steps to the sessions that load it, and the root
pnpm test:agents names the fix when a worktree has no .env; the
suggestion to repeat them here came from a review of
inkeep/agents-private#6957, not from an observed failure. When the .env
step is missed, public/agents tests stop at collection with "Invalid
environment variables". The public repository has no setup:env script,
so a line here would also need agents-private scoping.
