Compiling Stb_image.h as a static library

Hi I'm trying to compile the stb_image.h library as a static library. The issue isn't with the compilation of the static library, it's with the linking against it. It successfully links however I need to include the define before including the header even though I already did it in the static library. Is there anyway to avoid this?

You shouldn't need to add the define. What error do you get when you link against the static lib without it?

"type name is not allowed" is not a linker error.

Google suggests that "E0020" and "E0254" are Intellisense errors.

I checked the accepted answer and still nothing, I can't get it to work. I still keep getting the same errors. I checked the header file and stbi_context doesn't exist unless the implementation is defined, but I can't define the implementation because the static library already defines it.

I figured out the issue, it was because of a function I added that used stbi__context.
