You might be interested in my open-source work on markerless biomechanic software such as Pose2Sim and Sports2D. Over time, I've watched a growing number of research labs, coaches, 3D animators, and companies rely on them, and a nice community has started to take shape.

I love the open-source paradigm, which has already proven that keeping software open can make it more powerful, robust, flexible, and user-friendly than proprietary alternatives, precisely thanks to the community's contributions. My own expertise would not be anywhere close to what it is today without the feedback and contributions I've received, so turning these tools into paid products does not feel right. Coming from a modest background, I also firmly believe that science and software should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their budget.

To maintain state-of-the-art performance, provide support, and nurture this community, I have stepped away from full-time employment. But supporting a family while keeping these tools 100% free is a real challenge.

In the long run, I hope to return to academia, not only to share software, but also to contribute more fundamental knowledge and collaborate with researchers. In the meantime, I'm launching this sponsorship page to sustain this work.
