The Spring Boot Resume Builder is a modern web application designed to help candidates build and manage their resumes effortlessly. Featuring robust document parsing, it automatically extracts intelligent metadata from your existing files, saving hours of manual data entry for both applicants and recruiters.
This project is fully functional, complete with an intuitive frontend UI and a reliable Spring Boot backend. All required files, configurations, and database integrations are pre-configured to ensure a seamless "plug-and-play" experience.
- Intelligent Resume Parsing: Automatically extracts structured data—such as personal details, career summary, technical skills, education history, work experience, and certifications—directly from
.pdfand.docxfiles. - Embedded Database Setup: Powered by an embedded H2 database, requiring absolutely zero manual database configuration. It stores your data persistently across sessions without the hassle of setting up a SQL server.
- Responsive Web Interface: A beautifully styled, fully responsive frontend (HTML/CSS/JS) that provides an intuitive user experience for uploading and managing resumes.
- RESTful Architecture: Clean, well-documented API endpoints designed for easy integration and future scaling.
- Robust Error Handling: Comprehensive backend validation to handle unsupported file types and corrupted data gracefully.
- Backend: Java 17+, Spring Boot (Web, Data JPA)
- Document Processing: Apache PDFBox (for PDFs) & Apache POI (for DOCX)
- Database: Embedded H2 Database
- Frontend: Vanilla HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
- Build Tool: Maven
