effect-orm 0.6.0 and fix the failing electric-proxy e2e - #334
Conversation
The 18 enums are PG.enumType, so generate creates and alters them; the seven unique keys drizzle-kit push made constraints are PG.unique in uniqueConstraints. The migration chain is one effect-orm-generated initial_schema (snapshot included) in place of the hand-assembled initial migration plus baseline, and render-ddl is gone. A fresh database pg_dumps identically to a pushed one, and verify reports no drift on either, nor on a copy of the local dev database. 0.6.0 makes concrete inserts Runnable under TypeScript 5, so the widened Runnable workaround is removed. Review comments at @packages/db/src/migrate.ts:
- Line 20: Update the baseline adoption flow around BASELINE_MIGRATION to
inspect pg_constraint and pg_index for all seven affected names, converting any
standalone unique indexes into unique constraints with ALTER TABLE ... ADD
CONSTRAINT ... UNIQUE USING INDEX before recording the baseline. Leave objects
already represented as constraints unchanged.
- Line 20: Preserve the existing migration chain by keeping
`20261012000000_initial_schema` and `20261012222436_effect_orm_baseline`
unchanged. Update `BASELINE_MIGRATION` and the migration definitions so the full
schema is not replayed as a renamed initial migration; add a later migration
containing only the actual schema delta, allowing databases with the existing
ledger entry to migrate without re-adding existing constraints.

What this does
Testing
Before / after deploy
Deploy does not run migrations. The app doesn't need them to run, because the production schema already matches. But run `DATABASE_URL= bun run --cwd packages/db db:migrate` once: it detects the pushed schema and records the baseline without running any DDL. Future `db:generate` migrations then apply cleanly.
