Summary
A fresh serving of Salt for the LTS image! 🧂 I've moved this update to
3008.4and refreshed the documented image tags, badges, and release-note links to match.I'm keeping the release-build fixes from this PR too:
salt-sshnow gets its Python locks from the exact official source archive, with SHA512 verification, rather than depending on that release also being available on PyPI.I've also kept the version guard consistent with a fresh Salt release:
IMAGE_REVISIONstarts empty when Salt changes, while image-only changes still require a revision bump. The shared Salt-version checks preserve packaging revisions and RC numbers, ignoring only zero-distance Git metadata for the exact RC tag.The small, stdlib-only regression tests cover those guards, bad-checksum rejection, and the stable/packaging/RC comparisons—useful little safeguards for the next serving, too. 🙂
