[CIVIS-14025] Add support for Rails 8.1 - #8
Merged
Merged
Conversation
Verified via Docker (Ruby 3.4 + Rails 8.1.3.1) that the full spec suite passes unmodified, since Authority's Rails touchpoints are unaffected by 8.1. Wires 8.1 into the gemfile matrix and CI, bumps the gem version, and documents which files to update for future Rails version bumps. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Summary
gemfiles/8.1.gemfileand a8.1entry in the CI matrix so the gem is tested against Rails 8.1.5.1.0and adds a correspondingCHANGELOG.markdownentry.Why no code changes
Authority's Rails touchpoints (
ActiveSupport::Concern,ActiveSupport::Rescuable,Rails.root,ActionController::Base) are unaffected by Rails 8.1, and the gemspec's existingactivesupport '< 9'bound already permits it. I confirmed this by building a Docker image (Ruby 3.4 + Rails 8.1.3.1) via the repo's existingdocker-compose/start_container.shsetup and running the full spec suite against it: 160 examples, 0 failures, with no changes tolib/.Test plan

This PR was written by Claude Code (AI) at my direction, based on my review of the diff. All changes are mechanical (gemfile, CI matrix, version bump, changelog, README docs) — I verified the passing test run and reviewed the README additions before requesting this PR.
