where2go.bg

Source code of where2go.bg — a Bulgarian travel guide (places, events, festivals, hikes, transport, blog) with a business portal and partner subscriptions.

This repository contains the application code and the automation scripts. It does not contain the database, user uploads, signed contracts or any credentials.

Layout

Folder What it is
site/ The web application — Laravel 11, PHP 8.3, Blade views, Vite assets
bots/ Python / shell automation that ran on the server (content enrichment, image hunters, sitemaps, IndexNow, reports, backups, watchdog)
bin/ Maintenance shell scripts that were installed in /usr/local/bin (cache pre-warming, image audits, translations)
services/tts/ Text-to-speech micro-service (FastAPI, served by uvicorn on 127.0.0.1:8230)
services/vision/ Image-check micro-service (FastAPI, served by uvicorn on 127.0.0.1:8231)

Stack

  • nginx + PHP 8.3-FPM
  • PostgreSQL 14 with PostGIS
  • Redis (cache and queue — php artisan queue:work redis)
  • Node.js for building front-end assets
  • Python 3 for the bots

Setting up

cd site
cp .env.example .env # then fill in DB, mail, API keys
composer install
npm install && npm run build
php artisan key:generate
php artisan storage:link
php artisan migrate # runs database/migrations; the production data is not included

What was removed before publishing

  • .env and every password, API key and token. Hard-coded values in the scripts were replaced with CHANGE_ME — search for it and supply your own values (the database password is the most common one).
  • storage/ contents: uploaded photos (~11 GB), signed partner contracts and other private documents. Only the empty folder structure is kept.
  • vendor/ and node_modules/ — restore them with composer install and npm install.
  • Database dumps, logs, backup copies and large binary downloads.

Several bots read credentials from files under /root/ (for example /root/cf_credentials.txt for Cloudflare). Those files are not included; create your own.
