Today the only way to pick a model is a dropdown / typeahead that matches on the model ID string. That works if you already know the ID, but it is a weak way to find a model when you are not sure of the exact name.
Request: A better search experience for models. Not a full browsable catalog, just search that actually helps you find the right model.
What "better search" means:
- Search across more than the raw ID: match on vendor, family, parameter count, model type (text, vision, code, MoE), and quantization, so "70b", "vision", "nvfp4", or "nemotron" all return sensible results.
- Fuzzy / forgiving matching so small typos or partial names still hit.
- Show useful metadata in each result row (params, type, quantization, tested status) so the user can pick without decoding the ID.
- Keep it fast and inline where the model field already is; no separate page needed.
Why: The current dropdown assumes you know the exact model ID. A smarter search lets people find a model by what they know about it (size, vendor, type) instead of its exact string.
Relationship to #59: #59 improves the dropdown structure (grouping, collapsing quant variants, inline metadata). This issue is specifically about making search smarter (what it matches on, fuzzy matching). They complement each other.
