Right now, syntax errors are just given a line followed by "syntax error," which makes debugging stuff pretty difficult. Would be nice if it also clarified where on the line the syntax parsing failed.
For example, accidental copying of a forward to line from a redirect to a relay will cause a syntax error, because checks are required in redirects but not in relays. Very easy to visually miss this, and simply saying "syntax error" doesn't really give enough information.
