engine: review.contrast measures text contrast on the drawn slide - #1853
review.accessibility judges text contrast from declared colours. It runs the check only when the slide background resolves to a solid fill, skips text in shapes that have a fill of their own, and applies one threshold, 3.0:1, to text of every size. #1546 extended the check to every run and kept the rest: "The existing 3.0:1 threshold and solid slide background limitation are unchanged." Text over a gradient, a photo, a translucent band or a coloured card, which agents produce often, is where those limits decide the answer. On a probe deck with ten such placements, measured from rendered pixels by a script outside DeckCraft, five measure under 3:1; review.accessibility on main reports none of the five and flags the one placement that measures 16.11:1 (white text on a dark photo, compared with the white slide background).
review.contrast {slide?, ids?, level?, scale?}, read-only, measures each text run against what the slide draws behind it:
The slide is drawn once per text shape with that shape's text left out (RenderOpts.skip_text). When the slide draws shapes after the text's shape, those shapes are drawn a second time on their own over transparency: the slide's content part (render_slide_part), with every earlier shape and the text's own shape skipped and the groups holding the text kept.
Each glyph of the run gets a box from the text layout, at the size drawn after autofit and under the text's transform (upright glyphs in vertical text turned as the renderer turns them).
The pixels under the boxes are read on a grid of about 10,000 samples per run. The run's colour, seen through what the second drawing has at that pixel, is composited over the pixel at the run's alpha and fill opacity, and the WCAG contrast ratio of the result against the pixel is one sample. With nothing drawn over the text this is the run's own colour; text under an opaque shape measures 1:1.
Each entry is {slide, shape, para, run, text, color, sizePt, bold, required, ratio: {min, p5, median}, passShare, backdrop}. required follows WCAG 2.2: 4.5:1, or 3:1 for large text (18 pt, or 14 pt bold), at AA (1.4.3); 7:1 or 4.5:1 at AAA (1.4.6). sizePt is the drawn size: the font size after autofit times the scale the text's transform gives a glyph's height, so slanted text, in a shape turned inside a group stretched one way, keeps its font size; a run counts as bold when its face weighs 700 or more (CSS's bold, and axe-core's threshold) or when the layout draws it in synthetic bold, so 14 pt text in a SemiBold face (600) needs 4.5:1. text is the text drawn for the run, so a field gives its current value (a slide number, a date). passShare is the share of samples at or above required. backdrop names what lies behind the run (solid, gradient, picture, pattern, shapeFill, or mixed when more than one thing shows through), read front to back from the shape's own fill, the shapes drawn before it, the layout's and master's graphics and the slide background, stopping at the first opaque one. The label describes the paint; the ratios come from the pixels alone.
Parameters: slide defaults to the current slide, since each text shape costs one drawing, two when the slide draws shapes after it; ids picks text shapes on that slide (a group id picks the text inside it) and refuses ids that are not there; level is "AA" (default) or "AAA", case ignored; scale is pixels per point, default 1, clamped to 0.25–4 and lowered when a drawing would pass 16 million pixels. A call measures at most 64 text shapes and 5,000 runs and asks for ids beyond that. A call whose drawings would pass 200 million pixels in all, the cap a GIF export has, is refused before anything is drawn and asks for fewer ids or a lower scale; at the default scale a 960×540 slide stays far below it (64 text shapes make at most 128 drawings, 66 million pixels).
Left out: tables (their cells draw on the table's own path, so skip_text cannot hide them), master and layout text, warped text, runs drawn with no fill, and colour-font glyphs, which carry their own colours. Gradient text is measured with its first stop, the colour the layout gives the run. In a group with an outer shadow, the part of the shadow cast by members drawn after the text is counted as lying over the text; the renderer draws it below the group. A highlight is drawn with its text, so highlighted text is measured against what lies under the highlight.
PlacedText gains shape (the id of the shape holding the text) and own (whether that shape is one of the slide's own). The measurement also needs placed text to lie where the slide draws it, which for text inside a group whose child coordinates scale the shape is #1938: place() sets that text the way the renderer draws it, and the PDF text layer and text-link areas move with it. This branch merges #1938's branch and carries the change until #1938 merges; after that it drops out of this diff.
review.accessibility is unchanged here. Switching its contrast check to this measurement would add the missed cases, drop the false alarm and carry the ratio as a number, but it changes the findings the Accessibility pane shows, costs one drawing per text shape where the check now reads colours, and reverses a limit #1546 kept on purpose. That is a separate decision for the maintainers, so it is left for a follow-up ("review.accessibility measures the drawn backdrop"); the numbers below show what it would change. Until then the two commands can disagree on the same text; docs/mcp.md and docs/control-protocol.md say so, and that review.contrast reports what is drawn.
The command has no menu place (label "Text Contrast"). docs/mcp.md and docs/control-protocol.md describe it; the ROADMAP progress log has a row, and #1938 adds its own for the scaled-group placement.

Validation and scope
At 99a801c (this branch on 996bb42), cargo xtask ci passed all 8 steps (fmt, pdf-deps, clippy, test, doctest, assets, layers, wasm), with 2,386 tests passed and 6 existing skipped. Unpatched main at 996bb42 passed the same 8 steps with 2,375 tests passed and 6 skipped in the same environment.
On unpatched main with only the new tests added, all 11 failed: nine engine tests on review.contrast being an unknown command, the parameter test because that error does not name level, and the render test at the 1/1600 group, which placed 20 glyphs where the shape on its own places 24. With bold counted from weight 600 instead, the SemiBold test fails on the SemiBold run's required: 3.0 where it expects 4.5.
At d5c5410 (shapes drawn over the text, the field cleanup and the drawing budget, on a51dac0, which merged main daeedd5), cargo xtask ci passed all 8 steps with 2,451 tests passed and 6 skipped. At this head black 12 pt text under a half-clear white band measures 3.95:1, and text under an opaque #3366CC shape measures 1:1. With only the seven new tests on a51dac0, the four with a shape over the text failed: the band case measured 21:1, and the opaque case 3.91:1, the text's own black against the shape. The other three passed: the band beside the text, and the two field tests, which pass because main's placed body (#1192) already gives each field its drawn text. With only the budget test on 48cffa0, that test failed: the call it expects to be refused drew all 26 drawings and returned its entries.
At 8133b93 (#1938's branch merged in, the size from the drawn height, the conjunct test and the docs sentence), cargo xtask ci passed all 8 steps with 2,453 tests passed and 6 skipped. With only the size test on 6723aaf, that test failed: text at 20 pt turned 45° in a group twice as wide as its child space measured 17.89 pt and needed 4.5:1. The conjunct test fails when spaces are measured, as pairing glyphs with characters one to one would measure the space in "क्ष क": the band behind the space gives a minimum of 1:1.
An MCP probe with CLIs built from main and from this branch builds a deck with the ten placements in the table and asks review.accessibility {} and review.contrast for slides 0, 4, 5 and 8. "Outside" is the measurement of the v0.15.0 release's renders of the same deck by a script outside DeckCraft, which finds glyph pixels by colour and reads the backdrop from a ring 2–4 px outside them. On main, review.contrast is an unknown command and review.accessibility reports one contrast finding, "Hard-to-read text contrast (1.0:1)", for the white text on the photo. On this branch review.accessibility answers the same, and review.contrast answers:

The medians agree to two decimals for nine placements and differ by 0.06 for the subtitle. On the cards, review.contrast's p5 equals its median, as it should on a flat fill drawn without the text; the outside p5 is lower there, probably because its ring also catches the anti-aliased edges of the white glyphs. All ten texts are 18 pt or larger, so each needs 3:1; at "AAA" the same slide 4 entries need 4.5:1. review.contrast {"level": "A"} is refused: "level is "AA" or "AAA", not "A"".
A second probe sets 14 pt #888888 text, 3.54:1 on white, in Inter SemiBold and in Inter with bold on. review.contrast gives the SemiBold run bold: false, required: 4.5 and passShare: 0.0, and the bold run bold: true, required: 3.0 and passShare: 1.0; at "AAA" they need 7.0 and 4.5.
Checked on 2026-11-07 against main 0627fb2 and the 400 open PRs: this branch merges into main cleanly, and into main with #1938 merged. Merged, it adds textual conflicts with #1772, #1854 and #1925 in ROADMAP.md, docs/control-protocol.md and docs/mcp.md; with #1006 in cmd/review.rs and docs/mcp.md; with #774 in docs/mcp.md; with #1544 and #1564 in ROADMAP.md and docs/control-protocol.md; with #1869 in docs/control-protocol.md; and with #1029, #1764, #1775, #1836, #1838, #1891, #1905 and #1906 in ROADMAP.md. Forty-five older PRs already conflict with main in files this branch changes (in crates/render/src/placed.rs: #304, #855, #895, #1138, #1197 and #1470), and merging it adds no conflicted file to any of them. #134, #259 and #819 share no history with main and were not checked. Whichever lands second rebases.

Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Added a read-only contrast report for text runs, including text color, displayed size and weight, minimum, 5th-percentile, and median contrast ratios, the share of pixels meeting the selected WCAG 2.2 AA or AAA threshold, and backdrop details.
Filter results by slide or shape and adjust the sampling scale. Text in scaled groups is measured at its displayed size.
Documentation
Added guidance on report options, results, exclusions, and sampling limits.
An agent that builds a slide cannot tell whether its text can be read
against what the slide draws behind it. review.accessibility compares
a run's colour with the slide background only, and only when that
background is a solid colour and the shape has no fill, so black text
over a dark photo passes, and text on a gradient background or on a
filled card goes unchecked.
review.contrast {slide?, ids?, level?, scale?} draws the slide once per
text shape with that shape's text left out and compares each run's
colour, drawn over each pixel under the run's glyph boxes, with that
pixel by WCAG relative luminance. Each model run gets one entry: its
text, colour, drawn size and weight, the ratio WCAG 2.2 asks for at that
size and weight (4.5, or 3 for large text; 7 or 4.5 at AAA), the
smallest, 5th-percentile and median contrast, the share of pixels at or
above the required ratio, and what lies behind it: solid, gradient,
picture, pattern, shapeFill, or mixed when more than one of those shows.
Large text is 18 pt, or 14 pt and bold; a run is bold when its face
weighs 700 or more (CSS's bold) or the layout draws it in synthetic
bold, so 14 pt semibold text needs 4.5:1. Group members are measured; a
group id in ids picks its members. It is a query: no undo step and no
change to the deck.
Tables, layout and master text, warped text, runs drawn with no fill
and glyphs from colour fonts are left out; gradient text is measured
with its first colour.
place_slide now sets the text of a shape inside a group whose child
coordinates scale it the way the renderer draws it, at the shape's size
in points, and each placed text names its shape and whether the shape
belongs to the slide. The renderer and place_slide share that rule.
The tests build their decks and pictures in code
(cmd/review/contrast_tests.rs, render/src/tests_placed_group.rs). The
semibold test draws the Inter SemiBold and Bold faces of the craft-fonts
pin and is skipped in a local build without them. docs/mcp.md,
docs/control-protocol.md and the ROADMAP progress log describe the
command.

Merges main at daeedd5. Two files conflicted.
ROADMAP.md: main and this branch each added a header line, a progress-log
row and a revision-history row in the same places. Every line from both
sides is kept. This branch's header line sits below main's two newest
header lines, above the blank line that follows them, and each of its two
rows sits below main's new rows of the same date or later and above the
older ones.
crates/render/src/placed.rs: main (storytold#1192) records placed text with
`body: placed`, the body with each field run replaced by the value the
layout drew, and this branch added `shape` and `own` to the same
`PlacedText` literal. The merge keeps both: `PlacedText { layout,
transform: m, body: placed, shape: owner, own }`. This branch's
`text_space` after the function is kept as it was.

Measure text as drawn when shapes sit above it.
The sampled pixels include shapes painted after the measured text. The text colour is not attenuated by those shapes. The reported ratio and pass share therefore describe text that is not what the reader sees.
Black 12 pt text on white, with a 50% white band painted over it: the sample is white, so the query reports about 21:1. The visible text is about #808080 on white, about 3.9:1. At the 4.5:1 AA requirement, the query reports a pass for text that fails.
An opaque later shape that covers the glyph boxes makes the text invisible. The query reports the contrast of that cover, not of the hidden text.
The correction must make the measurement match the drawn slide:
Apply each later layer that covers a run to the run colour, before the ratio is computed. Build the backdrop from the layers beneath the text.
Report text that an opaque later layer fully covers as hidden. Do not return a ratio for it.
Do not only exclude later layers from the render. That changes the backdrop but leaves the visible text faded.
No code diff is proposed. The renderer paint order and the RenderOpts.skip handling of group children have not been verified.

crates/engine/src/cmd/review/contrast.rs:229-244 Minor · Functional Correctness · Quick win
Use the vertical scale when computing text size in contrast.
For a text run inside a group with nonuniform child scaling and a rotated child, the placed transform can keep a shear. sqrt(abs(determinant)) then does not equal the drawn glyph height. For example, a group scaled 2:1 with a child rotated 45° gives a factor of about 0.894. An 18 pt normal-weight run is then computed as 16.1 pt. It is classified as normal text and checked against 4.5:1 instead of 3:1.
The contrast size should use the vertical axis length of the same transform that samples the glyphs.
Suggested fix
- // The drawn size: text space is points unless the transform scales it.- let k = t.transform.determinant().abs().sqrt();+ // The drawn size: the length of the transform's vertical axis.+ let k = t.transform.as_coeffs()[2].hypot(t.transform.as_coeffs()[3]);

Compare renderer glyph positions with placed glyph positions.
text_in_a_scaled_group_is_placed_as_drawn compares only grouped and ungrouped place_slide output. It does not exercise the renderer's drawn-text path. A renderer transform regression can therefore pass this test while placed glyphs differ from drawn glyphs. Add renderer-side glyph capture for the same fixture and compare its origins and sizes with the place_slide values.

review.contrast drew the slide without the measured text and compared
the run's colour with that drawing, so a shape drawn over the text
counted as background while the text kept its own colour. Black 12 pt
text under a 50% white band read 21:1, where it shows mid grey at about
3.9:1 (CodeRabbit's example on storytold#1853).
When the slide draws shapes after the text's shape, those shapes are now
drawn a second time on their own over transparency: the slide's content
part, with every earlier shape and the text's own shape left out and the
groups the text sits in kept. Each text pixel is the run's colour seen
through that layer, laid at the run's opacity over the slide drawn
without the text. With nothing drawn over the text the numbers are the
same as before; text under an opaque shape measures 1:1.
run_starts no longer adjusts the length of a paragraph's single field:
the placed body holds each field's drawn value since storytold#1192, so the
adjustment never changed a length. Two tests with slide-number and date
fields check that the runs after the fields keep their own glyphs.
A request can render 64 full slides and 64 slide-sized content layers. Each drawing can be near 16 million pixels. The synchronous query can delay other work on the session.
Consider an aggregate pixel budget that asks clients to reduce ids or scale, or render bounded regions. Reuse render work only where the shape-specific overlays permit it.

Use the n == 0 case explicitly.
When v is empty, v.first().copied()? returns None, so the output is correct. The pass division uses n.max(1), which is only a guard for that unreachable case. The code works. Move the early return to the top of the function to make the contract clear.

A call now counts its drawings before drawing anything: one per text
shape, two when the slide draws shapes after it. When those drawings
would pass 200 million pixels together, the cap a GIF export has, the
call is refused with the count and the drawing size and asks for fewer
`ids` or a lower `scale`. At the default scale a 960×540 slide stays far
below it: 64 text shapes make at most 128 drawings, 66 million pixels.

AI-generated review (Opus). Not a maintainer decision.
Changes needed:
Adds review.contrast, which measures each text run against the slide drawn without that text and composites any shapes drawn over it. It also moves the scaled-group text rule into placed.rs so that placed text matches the drawn text.
The measurement is drawn from pixels and composited correctly: crates/engine/src/cmd/review/contrast.rs:450 gives the same result as drawing the text between the under and over layers, and an opaque cover measures 1:1.
Input handling is bounded: ids, level and scale are validated (contrast.rs:139, contrast.rs:150, contrast.rs:167), and the call refuses work beyond 64 shapes, 5000 runs or 200 million pixels drawn (contrast.rs:176).
The placed-text change in crates/render/src/placed.rs:161 is a separate fix. It moves the PDF text layer and text-link areas for text in scaled groups, and would be easier to review as its own change.
crates/engine/src/cmd/review/contrast.rs:350 (glyph_boxes) pairs glyphs with cells one to one. Where shaping merges characters (ligatures), the whitespace test reads the wrong character.
review.accessibility keeps its declared-colour check, so the two commands can disagree on the same text. The docs could mention this so agents know which one to trust.

unverified: review.accessibility is unchanged. (crates/engine/src/cmd/review.rs: the diff only edits the module doc, adds the contrast module and adds one spec entry; the accessibility function is not touched.)
On the outside-diff note in CodeRabbit's review of a51dac0 (contrast.rs 198-202, measuring text as drawn when shapes sit above it): fixed in 48cffa0.
When the slide draws shapes after the text's shape, drawn_over draws them a second time on their own over transparency: the slide's content part (render_slide_part), with every earlier shape and the text's own shape skipped and the groups holding the text kept. Each sample pairs the slide pixel drawn without the text with that layer's pixel, and seen puts the run's colour under the layer before compositing it at the run's opacity over the slide pixel. With nothing drawn over the text the numbers are unchanged.
The note's example is now black_text_under_a_half_clear_white_band_is_measured_as_seen: black 12 pt text under a 50% white band measures 3.95:1, where a51dac0 gave 21:1. The same band gives 3.95:1 when it is a later member of the text's group, and over the right part of a line it brings the median to 3.95:1 with 36% of samples passing. Text under an opaque #3366CC shape measures 1:1, where a51dac0 gave 3.91:1, the black against the shape; a band elsewhere on the slide still gives 21:1.
One case stays approximate and is listed in the description: in a group with an outer shadow, the part of the shadow cast by members drawn after the text is counted as lying over the text, though the renderer draws it below the group.
On the new note about total cost (contrast.rs 212-217): d5c5410 adds a budget for the whole call. Before drawing anything, a call counts its drawings, one per text shape and two when the slide draws shapes after it, and is refused when they would pass 200 million pixels in all, the cap GIF export already uses (gif_export::MAX_TOTAL_PIXELS). The message gives the count and the drawing size and asks for fewer ids or a lower scale. At the default scale a 960×540 slide stays far below it: 64 text shapes make at most 128 drawings, 66 million pixels.
The renderer sets the text of a shape inside a group whose child
coordinates scale it at the shape's size on the slide, so font sizes and
insets stay in points (Renderer::text_space). place() set the same text in
the group's child units and then scaled it with the group, so placed text
broke its lines differently and lay elsewhere than the drawn text. The PDF
text layer and the text hyperlink areas read placed text.
text_space's rule moves into placed.rs as one function that the renderer
and place() both call. Table cell text is unchanged: tables draw their
text under the group's scale, and place() already did the same.
Test: text_in_a_scaled_group_is_placed_as_drawn puts one line in groups
whose child space is 1, 1600, 4 and 1/4 times smaller than the group and
checks each glyph's id, position on the slide and drawn size against the
same line on its own.
ROADMAP.md gets a status line, a progress-log row and a revision-history
row.
The scaled-group text placement that review.contrast relies on is now its
own pull request; this branch carries it until that one merges. The two
lines that differ keep this branch's text: the owner passed to place_text
also says whether the shape is one of the slide's own, which
review.contrast needs.
The review.contrast progress-log row no longer describes how text in
scaled groups is placed; the merged fix/placed-group-text branch adds
its own row for that.
A run's size was its font size times the square root of its transform's
determinant. Text in a shape turned inside a group stretched one way is
drawn slanted: its transform keeps the font size along the slant, but its
determinant is below 1, so the run was judged smaller than it is drawn,
and 20 pt text there could be held to the 4.5:1 normal-text ratio instead
of 3:1.
The size is now the font size times the length the transform gives text
space's y, or x for a glyph standing upright in vertical text. For text
that is not slanted the two agree.
Test: text_turned_in_a_stretched_group_is_judged_at_its_font_size.
glyph_boxes pairs each glyph with GlyphRun::cells, which holds the
character each glyph draws (a cluster's glyphs carry its first
character), so the whitespace test reads the right character when one
glyph draws several. Latin ligatures are off in shaping, and the pinned
Noto Sans Arabic draws lam and alef as two glyphs; the pinned Noto Sans
Devanagari draws the conjunct क्ष (three characters) as one. The test
measures "क्ष क" with a black band behind the middle of the space: the
space is not measured, and the text keeps 21:1.
Test: a_conjunct_is_measured_and_the_space_after_it_is_not.
review.accessibility keeps its declared-colour contrast check, so it can
disagree with review.contrast on the same text. Both command references
now say so, and that review.contrast reports what is drawn.

glyph_boxes pairs each glyph with the character that glyph draws, not with the run's characters in order. GlyphRun::cells has one entry per glyph (crates/text/src/run.rs:12), and the layout hangs each cluster's glyphs on its first character (crates/text/src/shape.rs:369, push_cell_glyphs in crates/text/src/layout.rs). Latin liga and clig are off in shaping (shape.rs:360-365), but the pinned Noto Sans Devanagari draws the conjunct क्ष, three characters, as one glyph. a_conjunct_is_measured_and_the_space_after_it_is_not (d619674) measures "क्ष क" with a black band behind the middle of the space, and the run keeps 21:1. With spaces measured, which is what pairing glyphs with characters one to one would do here (the space glyph would get the virama), the test fails at a minimum of 1:1.
docs/mcp.md and the review.contrast row of docs/control-protocol.md now say that review.accessibility judges contrast from declared colours, so the two can disagree on the same text, and that review.contrast reports what is drawn.
One more fix in this round (0518bb4): a run's size is now the height its glyphs are drawn at. It was the font size times the square root of the transform's determinant, which comes out smaller for slanted text, in a shape turned inside a group stretched one way: 20 pt text turned 45° in a group twice as wide as its child space measured 17.89 pt and needed 4.5:1 instead of 3:1. text_turned_in_a_stretched_group_is_judged_at_its_font_size fails that way without the fix.
review.accessibility itself is untouched: in crates/engine/src/cmd/review.rs this branch edits the module doc and adds the contrast module and its spec entry.
At 8133b93, cargo xtask ci passed all 8 steps with 2,453 tests passed and 6 skipped.

Refs #298 (answers to agents); follows #1546.
review.accessibilityjudges text contrast from declared colours. On a probe deck with ten such placements, measured from rendered pixels by a script outside DeckCraft, five measure under 3:1;review.accessibilityon main reports none of the five and flags the one placement that measures 16.11:1 (white text on a dark photo, compared with the white slide background).review.contrast {slide?, ids?, level?, scale?}, read-only, measures each text run against what the slide draws behind it:RenderOpts.skip_text). When the slide draws shapes after the text's shape, those shapes are drawn a second time on their own over transparency: the slide's content part (render_slide_part), with every earlier shape and the text's own shape skipped and the groups holding the text kept. Each entry is

A call measures at most 64 text shapes and 5,000 runs and asks foridsbeyond that. A call whose drawings would pass 200 million pixels in all, the cap a GIF export has, is refused before anything is drawn and asks for feweridsor a lowerscale; at the default scale a 960×540 slide stays far below it (64 text shapes make at most 128 drawings, 66 million pixels).Left out: tables (their cells draw on the table's own path, so
skip_textcannot hide them), master and layout text, warped text, runs drawn with no fill, and colour-font glyphs, which carry their own colours. Gradient text is measured with its first stop, the colour the layout gives the run. In a group with an outer shadow, the part of the shadow cast by members drawn after the text is counted as lying over the text; the renderer draws it below the group. A highlight is drawn with its text, so highlighted text is measured against what lies under the highlight.PlacedTextgainsshape(the id of the shape holding the text) andown(whether that shape is one of the slide's own). The measurement also needs placed text to lie where the slide draws it, which for text inside a group whose child coordinates scale the shape is #1938:place()sets that text the way the renderer draws it, and the PDF text layer and text-link areas move with it. This branch merges #1938's branch and carries the change until #1938 merges; after that it drops out of this diff.review.accessibilityis unchanged here. Until then the two commands can disagree on the same text; docs/mcp.md and docs/control-protocol.md say so, and thatreview.contrastreports what is drawn. The command has no menu place (label "Text Contrast"). docs/mcp.md and docs/control-protocol.md describe it; the ROADMAP progress log has a row, and #1938 adds its own for the scaled-group placement.

With bold counted from weight 600 instead, the SemiBold test fails on the SemiBold run'srequired: 3.0 where it expects 4.5.At d5c5410 (shapes drawn over the text, the field cleanup and the drawing budget, on a51dac0, which merged main daeedd5),
cargo xtask cipassed all 8 steps with 2,451 tests passed and 6 skipped. At 8133b93 (#1938's branch merged in, the size from the drawn height, the conjunct test and the docs sentence),

The conjunct test fails when spaces are measured, as pairing glyphs with characters one to one would measure the space in "क्ष क": the band behind the space gives a minimum of 1:1.An MCP probe with CLIs built from main and from this branch builds a deck with the ten placements in the table and asks
