The settings menu groups all on-device configuration. Open it from the main screen toolbar.

The menu provides access to:
- Map Settings
- Device Settings
- Compass Calibration — see Calibration
- Touch Calibration — see Calibration
- Sensor Info — see Satellites & Sensors

| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| 3D Navigation Map View | Pseudo-3D perspective while navigating a track/waypoint (vector maps). |
| Climb Analyzer | Show the elevation/ascent profile when following a track. |
| Compass Rotation | Rotate the map according to heading instead of north-up. |
| Show Compass | Show the compass indicator on the map. |
| Show Map Scale | Show the distance scale of the current zoom level. |
| Show Speed | Show the current speed indicator on the map. |
Vector vs. rendered map selection is stored as the
vectMappreference (see CLI).

| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Brightness | Screen backlight level. |
| Route profile | Routing profile for A* (Car / Bike / Walk) — selects the ROUTE.bin used. |
| GPS rate / speed | GPS update rate and serial speed. |
| NMEA debug | Toggle the NMEA debug tile (developer diagnostics). |
| Firmware Upgrade | Update the firmware from a file — see Build & Install. |
Some values are not in the on-screen menus and are set once via the CLI, such as: default position (defLAT/defLON), default zoom (defZoom), timezone (defTZ), battery thresholds (VmaxBatt/VminBatt), temperature offset (tempOffs), magnetic declination (defDecAng), compass Kalman filter (kalmanFil/kalmanQ/kalmanR), and GPS pins (gpsTX/gpsRX).
Run klist over the CLI to see all user preferences and their current values.
