Tracks and Routes
IceNav can follow a GPX track loaded from the SD card, or a route calculated on the device with the A* router. While following, it shows turn information and an optional elevation (climb) profile.
Open the track list and select a .gpx file stored on the SD card.

Once loaded, the track is drawn as a line on the map and navigation along it begins.
IceNav can compute a route from your position to a destination using an on-device A* router over a precomputed road graph (ROUTE.bin). The routing profile selects which graph is used:
| Profile | Use | Max speed (heuristic) |
|---|---|---|
| Car | Roads | 130 km/h |
| Bike | Cycle-friendly ways | 25 km/h |
| Walk | Pedestrian | 5 km/h |
The profile is selected in Settings → Device (route profile). It maps to ROUTE/CAR, ROUTE/BIKE or ROUTE/WALK on the SD card — see SD Card Structure.
If you leave the route, IceNav can recalculate automatically.
While following a track or route, turn indicators guide you through upcoming maneuvers (turn direction and distance to the next turn).

When following a track, the climb analyzer can display an elevation profile and ascent information.

Enable it in Settings → Map → Climb Analyzer.
A navigation simulation mode can replay a loaded track as if you were moving along it — useful for testing routes indoors. It is enabled via the CLI preference simNav.
